The course aims to stimulate curiosity about the region of Southeastern Europe, to enable the students to analyse and evaluate a range of literary, cultural and political issues representative for the modern and contemporary history of the Balkans, to develop critical understanding of the cultural and philosophical concept of ”post-communist nostalgia” and to create skills necessary for the interpretation of primary and secondary sources on the region’s socialist past.
