Course Description: Applied Social Psychology is concerned with the application of social psychological knowledge, theories, methods, and research findings to the understanding and solution of social problems. Such problems may relate to or include: consumer behaviour, social attitudes and attitude change, people and the legal system, intergroup prejudice and discrimination, aggression and violence in the community, and the impact of the environment on social behaviour. The course aims to tackle a few selected issues in some depth. The approach is student-centred, with an emphasis on small group activity and collaboration.
