Course aim
To develop students’ knowledge of changes to the Earth’s human populations, biological systems, climate, and ecosystems and how they in turn have influenced human health.
Course content
Links between changes to the planet’s human populations, biological systems, climate and ecosystems and human health are explored in five domains of impact: 1) temperature and extreme weather; 2) Infectious disease; 3) Food and water supply; 4) Livelihood and Disadvantage; 5) Security, social instability and conflict. The One Health conceptual framework will be described and analysed in contemporary settings.
