Course Description:
The course starts with a conceptual discussion to elucidate similarities and differences betweenmedia content and media texts. Second, the course offers an overview of different approachesand debates regarding the study of diverse media content and texts (e.g., print media,audiovisual media,...). For the greater part, this course elaborates and illustrates contemporaryquantitative and qualitative approaches. Particularly, students are instructed on how to conductspecific quantitative and qualitative analyses of media content and media texts. Last, studentswithin this course are expected to conduct a content and textual analysis.
