Course Description:
This workshop offers students an intensive academic skills training through practical assignments that lead to the development of relevant information and communication skills. Students will develop effective strategies for using the University Library’s search engine and databases and they will learn to the critically analyse scholarly sources. The course also addresses note taking, reading strategies, principles of academic writing, as well as presentation and discussion skills. Students write a short paper, working with draft versions in different stages. They will be involved in peer evaluations and discussion groups and will eventually present their work in a conference type setting.
