Course Title: Case Studies in Microeconomics
Course Number: SEMM:MIFA
Course Description: The purpose of this seminar is to apply your microeconomic knowledge and to enhance your economic skills. To this end, we collect novel case studies like the “Boxed Examples” in textbooks as for example Pindyck-Rubinfeld. Your main assignment is to come up with a new own case study, i. e. to assemble background information and to show how this information helps to illustrate a given microeconomic concept. Emphasis is on the choice of current topics. This seminar is useful as a preliminary exercise for a more comprehensive potential bachelor thesis.
