Course Description:
The seminar aims to help students understanding, analyzing and discussing regular publications of leading national and international institutions like e.g. the IMF World Economic Outlook, the annual report of the German Council of Economic Experts, economic projections and policy analysis by the European Central Bank, Deutsche Bundesbank, the Federal Reserve, the OECD, the Bank of International Settlements, the European Commission among others. Students will learn about methods, models and frameworks used in these publications as well as discuss macroeconomic policy implications and policy options related to recent macroeconomic events.
