Course Description:
The course is a general overview of Data Science. In the first few days, Data Science was clearly communicated as an intersection between computer science, math, and a domain of the problem solver's choice. Throughout the semester, we learned about the data science workflow from data or business understanding to processing, cleaning, modeling, evaluation, and deployment. We listened to lectures by people working in the industry and worked through real-life problem in python and R. We ended the semester with a kaggle competition where we had to predict the success of startups using machine learning algorithms assigned to each groups. My group had to use decision trees.
