Dear Mr. Kenneth,
My name is Shogo Sakurai, and I'm one of the program coordinators of the Japanese Language Program. Thank you for your inquiry regarding the syllabi. As you can see on our website, we are planning on changing the textbooks for J111/J112 from Minnano Nihongo I → Genki I and J211/J212 from Minnano Nihongo II → Genki II. Thus, the new syllabi based on the Genki series will not be available until a few weeks before the fall semester begins. However, if you take J111/J112, you will complete the whole Genki I textbook (Chapters 1-12), and if you take J211/J212, you will complete the whole Genki II textbook (Chapters 13-23). Most likely, the grading components will include quizzes, mid-term exams, final exams, participation, homework, etc.
