Course Description:
The aim of this course is to present and discuss some of the media related issues, with the focus placed on evolution and convergence of media, and relation between media, history and culture. In the class, we will analyse various media, starting from printed matter and move forward to cover recent issues such as social networking, mobile communication and virtual reality. The class will be conducted in an interactive way, so that students will have a chance to explore the concepts related to media, make themselves familiar with the terminology, and will also be encouraged to give their opinion on a range of topics. Students will perform individual research on the topics of their interest and make presentations in class.
