Course Description & Goals
This class elaborates how our perception of information, interaction
with others, believe systems are influenced and interrelated, and how
such understanding can guide us to design information and interaction
in a better way. This vision consists of two goals:
1. Understand fundamental psychological knowledge
- brain, memory
- sensation, perception
- cognition
- behavior
- emotion
- learning
2. Elaborate the intersection of psychology and design
- information overload
- fluency
- salience
- sense making, affordance, gestalt theory
- psychological value of design
- aesthetics and design
