The main objectives of the course are to:
• It analyzes psychometric principles and assessment principles pertaining to the
development of instruments.
• It aims to develop critical analytical skills and a general understanding of published
research and assessment instruments
• The course will also present to the students a chance to understand how assessment
instruments are developed and used and the questions that need to be answered before
an instrument is deemed to be ready for use outside the psychological labs
• This course will teach students how to select tests, evaluate their strengths and
weaknesses
• This course will teach the student how to be sensitive to ethical and multicultural issues
surrounding psychological assessment.
