Course Description:
The event offers an introduction to gender studies with a focus on a specific sociological perspective on the research field. Sociological gender research essentially deals with the question of social gender differentiation - where, how and why societies differentiate according to gender. She examines the constitution and changes in gender relations as well as gendered patterns in culture and society. This includes questions of socialization and subjectification, social inequality, the connections and intersections of "gender" and other categories of difference, the division of labor, questions of power and domination and much more
The prerequisite for participation is the willingness to read and (virtual) discussion of texts in assigned two-person tandems. In online lectures, the theses and questions formulated by the students are taken up by the lecturer.
