Theoretical concepts addressed in previous years include: breakout text, character engagement, the male gaze, the "Other," stereotyping, and queer subtext. Films assigned in previous years include: Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Jezebel, Paris Is Burning, Philadelphia, Psycho, Single White Female, TransAmerica, and Vertigo. Both the selection of theoretical concepts and assigned films is subject to change.
