Course Description:
The objective of this class is for students to develop tools to experience, explore and document culture through photography.Through this process students will consciously study and record their current surroundings from a more socially and historicallyaware perspective, as opposed to a superficial observation.The basic functions of a camera are studied in order to have an efficient control when taking a photograph in any scenario, as well as the fundamentals of digital image manipulation.Additionally students will reflect on the definition of culture, as well as the ethicsinvolved in capturing images of other people andtheir surroundings.Through this process, students will be able to approach cultural exploration while taking into consideration creative as well as the human aspect of photographic creation.
