The module takes an innovative and dynamic approach and addresses some of the most pressing issues and critical debates in the field of modern cultural studies. Through text and media, you explore contemporary representations of gender and analyse the political and social contexts behind them.
Indicative topics covered by this module include queer theory, intersectionality, postfeminism and feminism in art. Theoretical work in these areas is complemented by exploration of a wide range of media, from film to music.
