Course Description: This module will give students an understanding of key geomorphology and physical geography concepts. The module will also provide an introduction to some of the keys areas of Physical Geography that will feed into the more specialised options in year 2. The Physical Geography lectures are designed to provide an overview of landforms, the formative processes and controls on these through time and space. The field sessions will introduce students to key field skills that will be used throughout the degree and allow students to work in groups using the field equipment. The practical sessions will develop the student’s GIS skills. Key skills training will be provided in writing, referencing, practical work and fieldwork.There are no charges associated with the field sessions.
