The course addresses the special problems that foreign parties face in civil litigation before US and European courts. This essentially pursues two goals: On the one hand, it is about imparting concrete knowledge in the areas of American and European international procedural law. On the other hand, the often contradictory legal policy expectations and goals in these areas, which are an expression of different legal cultures, should be examined and compared in more detail.
