As the world continues becoming more digitalized with new technology, it is vital to understand how messages are digitally conveyed and communicated to wider audiences through multimodal ways. Digital storytelling is a coherent narrative that is constructed using diverse relevant digital media. The course is designed to provide students necessary knowledge and skills in digital storytelling. They will create a series of digital stories individually as well as collaboratively in small groups. Through the process of digital storytelling production, they will share ideas and analyse issues and effective ways of digitally communicating for impactful digitalized stories. Digital storytelling is an inquiry based integrative art form that is multimodal and reflective. In digital stories, students will use a range of 'modes’ in their communication including written text, speech, gesture, gaze, movement, image, music and sound.
