Course Description:
The courses in this semester centre around the international context of the international business environment. Period 4 specifically introduces you to the environment of developed economies and what this means for different disciplines. Work is increasingly being done in a distributed fashion, technology mediates many work activities and digital innovation becomes a central concern for many organizations. In addition, communication extends more and more to social media, which calls for using expertise developed outside the formal boundaries. The introduction of new digital technologies, such as robotics or algorithms radically challenge traditional work practices. The possible consequences of these new digital are often predicted but not yet fully academically understood. In this course, you will learn about the current state of knowledge about digital innovation, the practices of developing and using new technologies and the complexity involved in understanding the implications of digitilization for organizing.
