Course Title: XXI CENTURY’S PERUVIAN LITERATURE

Course Description: The controversial process of the constitution of national literatures and their problematic post-colonial configuration in Peru will be studied. The opening towards non-Hispanic national literatures will be taken into account, as well as the criticism of local literary traditions. Among the topics that the course will examine, the study of various revisions on the colonial past that are developed in the context of the definition of the national at this time is included. It is also interesting to study the role of the press, cultural societies and literary historiography in the construction of the canon, as well as the decisive intervention of women in the literary production of the last third of the century.
